Dear Nur Academy Parents,
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh…
It is with great honor and utmost pleasure to welcome all parents and students to our school Nur Academy, Alhamdulillah! My name is Feras Abuzayda and I am the Principal of Nur Academy. I have been in the field of education for more than seventeen years, as an administrator, curriculum consultant, and teacher. Prior to joining Nur Academy, I was the Principal of American Youth Academy (AYA) in Tampa-Florida; Principal of Iqra Academy of Virginia in Richmond-Virginia; and Professional Learning Community (PLC) Leader, Department Chair, Science Curriculum Coordinator, and teacher at Westwood High School in Fort Pierce-Florida. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology & Chemistry double major, a Master’s degree in Physiology, a graduate certificate in Educator Preparation Institute (EPI), and special certificates in Administration and Leadership for school teams and departments.
Nur Academy is an independent, nonprofit, private Islamic school located in Sarasota, Florida. We serve students in grades PreK-8 in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Our mission is to provide quality academic and Islamic education that prepares students to become strong, ethically and morally responsible leaders and members of the community. We offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities; harmonized with finest Islamic and academic programs. Our education philosophy is based on the understanding that all children are individuals with their own strengths, needs, likes and learning styles. We have options that cater to every student's interests.
Thank you for entrusting us with your precious children and may Allah (SWT) grant us the mercy, guidance, and ability to fulfill this Amana (responsibility) to our very best! Last, but not least, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, “Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him.” - Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2646.
